House resolves in favour of committee procedure recommendation

House of Lords

A step of type Business step.

The Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee examines all legislative reform orders. It considers whether the minister has recommended the appropriate level of scrutiny and can require a higher level. It has 30 days to do this. The Government, or member, can table a motion to disagree with the recommendation. If the House resolves in favour of the committee then the procedure is upgraded in line with their recommendation.
