Extended pre-approval period ends Routes
A step of type Business step.
A draft affirmative laid under the enhanced procedure of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 must lay before the House for 40 days unless either House has agreed to extend the period to 60 days. During that time the relevant committees can take evidence and report their findings on the instrument. At the end of the 60-day period, the draft order can be approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
